Traders’ delegation calls on Bhardwaj, discusses issues

JAMMU, Sept 5: A delegation of traders led by Sham Lal Langer, convener, Trade and Industries Cell, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir called on the Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vivek Bhardwaj at the Civil Secretariat here, today.
In a hand out issued to media, the convener Trade and Industries Cell stated that the delegation led by him discussed in detail with the Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce various issues related to traders’ community. He said that the issues highlighted mainly pertained to conversion of leaseholder rights to free hold rights for existing industrial units in J&K, marketing support to save the local micro and small scale industry, registration/ reimbursement claims with DPIIT under package on incentives IDS-2017, extension of Central package 2021, annual maintenance, deposit of 100 per cent land premium for the allotment of land to prospective investors, industrial representations in the boards, hike in power tariff, extension in validity of Provisional Registration period  beyond 30th June 2022, one time opportunity for sanction of Time Bound GST Reimbursement claims, Reimbursement of amount deducted by State Taxes Department, etc.
Sham Langer said industrialists are playing a vital role in enhancing the economy of J&K Union Territory besides providing employment to thousands of youth across the region. He made a fervent appeal to the Commissioner Secretary to seriously consider the just and quite genuine issues of industrialists at the earliest to save the units struggling for survival after having suffered miserably during the peak COVID pandemic.
Vivek Bhardwaj assured them that all their genuine concerns would be addressed after considering all the pros and cons related to the issues raised by the delegation.
