JAMMU, Oct 18: Traffic Police Jammu Rural committed to ensuring road safety of all the citizens today launched special awareness drive in Rajouri-Poonch.
The Traffic policemen are continuously launching massive traffic awareness drives in whole Traffic Rural jurisdiction like Rajouri, Poonch, Samba and Kathua simultaneously. These Traffic awareness campaigning empowers citizens/ general public to report traffic concerns, helping to target problematic areas and promote responsible driving practices.
A similar awareness drive was initiated in the Rajouri and Poonch district led by Shiv Kumar Dy SP Traffic Rajouri Poonch along with Inspr. Manzoor Ahmed DTI Rajouri, Inspr. Kuljeet Singh DTI Sunderbani and Inspr. Rattan Singh DTI Poonch under the guidance of M. Suleman Choudhary IGP Traffic J&K, Dr Haseeb Mughal DIG Jammu Range and under the supervision of Vinay Kumar, SSP Traffic Rural, Jammu.
During the awareness programme, in the town/on road side in Rajouri and Poonch, the Enforcement officers highlighted the value of obeying the Traffic rules for one’s own safety.
Traffic awareness campaign aimed at reducing traffic violations and promoting road safety and especially focused the road users to keep an order that gives efficiency on the road, it is necessary to use/obey the traffic rules. These traffic rules also keep the vehicle operators/ general public safe while crossing the roads or even while driving.
There is an increasing trend of unsafe driving that leads to vehicle accidents in which many people die, undergo serious injuries or lose their body parts permanently. Many of these accidents mostly occur due to poor driving skills, non-adherence to road safety precautions, lack of awareness and violation of traffic rules and plying the unfit vehicles.
SSP Traffic Rural Vinay Kumar urged upon the general public/ motorists that while purchasing a vehicle they shall provide valid/ functional contact numbers/ residential address to the Registration/ transferring authorities so that they can link their contact numbers on VAHAN/ PARIVAHAN portal for future facilitation. He also urged the shopkeepers to keep their goods inside their shops to avoid traffic disruptions.
