JAMMU, Dec 21: The traffic was disrupted on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for about two hours in Ramban sector during this afternoon.
Reports said that due to landslide at Maggarkote, between Ramban and Banihal, the highway was blocked at around 2.30 pm today. The movement of traffic came to grinding halt on ever busy highway with the blockade. The NHAI authorities pressed two machnines in restoration work.
There was some disruption in the work due to shooting stones for some time, however, the road was restored at around 4.20 pm. The one way traffic was then allowed to move by the Traffic police authorities. It created long traffic jam and people remained struck in the jams at several places between Ramban and Banihal for hours together. The vehicles were witnessed moving at snails pace for long, giving tough time to the local police men as well to monitor traffic movement in Ramban town and Ramsu sub sector of the highway.
