JAMMU, Dec 13: Locals of Bahu Fort area have said that traffic diversion in the area has created problems for them as minibuses now ply via Narwal to reach Bahu Fort.
Leaders of Matador Union, Naresh Kumar Bhagat and Neel Kanth urged BJP leader, Rajeev Charak to intervene who in turn called on S. Charanjeet Singh, DTI of traffic police in presence of Sham Lal Basson, local Councillor and discussed the matter.
Speaking on the occasion, Charak said that Regional Transport Office Jammu has issued route permits to Matadors from Panjtirthi to Bawe, Janipur to Bawe and Muthi Camp to Bawe.
He asked the traffic police and Matador Union to keep the matador route as it is, if needed then private cars of pilgrims or load carriers can be diverted via Narwal.
When contacted, Sham Lal Basson said that one more meeting will be organised to sort out the issue with traffic authorities.
Karuna Chhetri, president J&K Gorkha community, Ajay Sharma, president BJP Ward No. 48, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Moti Lal, Anil Sharma, Sher Singh Khokhar, Mukhtiyar Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
