Traffic from Pantha chowk to Pampore on highway remains diverted

Srinagar : Traffic remained suspended on the Kashmir highway between Pantha chowk to Pampore for security reasons following an encounter after militants attacked a CRPF vehicle, killing two personnel and injuring 13 others, including an Assistant Commandant. A civilian gardener of Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI)  was also killed in the firing near the encounter site yesterday. A traffic police official told UNI that traffic between Pantha chowk to Pampore remained suspended for security reasons. All vehicles going from Srinagar to south Kashmir and Jammu on the highway, have been diverted through other routes, including Sumarbugh. He said since the operation by security forces in the EDI area traffic remained suspended for security reasons.  (Agencies)
