JAMMU, Nov 26: A huge traffic jam was witnessed from Bari- Brahmna to Kunjwani this after noon as the old bridge which has been presently opened for vehicular traffic is not in a position to cater to heavy traffic rush on National Highway.
Hundreds of the vehicles coming from different parts of the country as well as from Kashmir Valley were trapped in three- hour traffic jam, which according to local residents is the common problem since the new bridge over Baloe Nullah was declared unsafe this Summer after its one abetments were found hanging due to querying work beneath them.
There was a huge traffic jam from Bari Brahmana to Kunjwani bye Pass today and the vehicles remained trapped into the jam for hours together. This is a routine affair since the bridge was closed for vehicular traffic after being declared unsafe by authorities, said a daily passenger.
He said that often they reach their duties late, as the traffic jam has become routine affair on the National Highway at this spot since the bridge was declared unsafe.
