Traffic police asks mini-bus, inter state bus operators to follow rules

JAMMU, May 9: SSP Traffic City Jammu, Joginder Singh today held a meeting with the union leaders and owners of mini-buses, buses and inter state buses of different routes of Jammu city.
The participants were asked to abide by the traffic rules and regulations besides the directions of J&K High Court issued in this regard from time to time have to be followed in letter and spirit.
It was informed that mini bus operators will not play music in their vehicles, wear prescribed uniforms, carry all relevant documents required under MV Act and ensure pick and drop service practice only at identified and designated stops and ply on roads as per the route permit.
SSP further informed them that not to indulge in overloading, not to park their vehicles on the road anywhere, obey lane driving and maintain the gap to avoid congestion, park their vehicles in an orderly manner at designated stands only for boarding and de-boarding, avoid rash and negligent driving and overtaking practice and avoid drunken driving.
The participants also raised some issues like mini-buses and bus stops to which SSP assured them that there all issues pertaining to traffic will be sorted out in near future.
Additional SP Traffic City Jammu PD Sharma, DySP Traffic City North, Sunny Gupta and all DTIs Traffic City North Inspectors Basanti Bhat, Rakesh Kumar, Opinder Singh, Ashish Khajuria, Punjab Singh, Surjeet Kumar and Ghanshyam were also present in the meeting.
