Traffic police challans 2541 vehicles for violating rules

JAMMU, June 24: Traffic Police challaned more than 2,500 vehicles for not obeying the laws and recovered more than rupees five lakh from the offenders.
As per statement issued by SP Traffic Rural Jammu, a total of 2541 vehicles were challaned during the ongoing month of June and Rs 5,53500 were recovered as compound fine.
He said that during special naka at Bari Brahmana, 306 vehicles were challaned and a fine of Rs 58,650 was recovered, whereas, in Mansar area, a total of 414 vehicles were challaned and a fine to the tune of Rs 96,950 was recovered.
In district Samba, 228 vehicles were challaned and Rs 45,550 was recovered, while, in Kathua district, a fine of Rs 40,950 was recovered from 228 offenders.
At Lakhanpur, a total of 307 vehicles were challaned and a fine of Rs 77,750 was recovered, while, in Sunderbani, Rs 86,250 was recovered as fine amount from 368 offenders.
In Mendhar, 422 vehicles were challaned and a fine to the tune of Rs 88,050 was recovered from the offenders, while, in the Poonch district, a fine of Rs 59,550 was recovered from 268 traffic law offenders.
Meanwhile, 559 private vehicles were challaned for having tinted glasses as per Supreme Court order and a fine of Rs 1,87,250 was recovered from them.
Besides, black films of more than 500 vehicles were removed.
