RAMBAN, Apr 20: The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was restored after the clearance of landslides in Ramban sector this afternoon.
Official sources said that after the clearance of landslides/mudslides at Dalwas, Meharh, Cafeteria Morh and Kishwari Pather today, the traffic on the highway was restored at around 2.30 pm on Saturday. The stranded vehicles were being cleared from both the sides while fresh traffic from Jammu and Srinagar side will be allowed tomorrow morning.
The highway was blocked at around 11.45 am on Friday after landslides at Ghangroo between Ramban and Banihal. The road was cleared at around 5 pm but it was blocked at Dalwas, Meharh, Cafeteria Morh, followed by Kishtwari Pather, hardly after an hour due to heavy rain in the area. The road clearance work could not be executed during the night due to risk of shooting stones and it was resumed in the morning, the official said.
