SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir national highway, linking the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the rest of the country, was put through this afternoon after remaining closed due to landslides and shooting, triggered by overnight heavy rains.
A traffic police official said that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), maintaining the highway, have already pressed into service sophisticated machines and men to clear the landslides.
The highway was put through and all stranded vehicles were allowed to move towards their respective destinations, the official said.
The historic Mughal road, connecting Shopian with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu and the national highway is through for traffic despite rains. (AGENCIES)
