KATHUA, May 12: Unconcerned over the increasing road accidents in the State and the yesterday’s tragic road accident at Latti being the glaring example of the same in which 25 people lost their lives and about 60 were injured , the traffic authorities have given full liberty to private transport operators to play with the lives of the people in the State.
With authorities being totally blind to the happenings, the private transporters continue to make their monopoly in rural and hilly belt by filling the passengers in their buses and matadors as well as on their roof tops like sheep and goats.
Even only after one day of yesterday’s tragic road accident at Latti the overloaded matadors and buses were seen carrying passengers even on their roof tops on Mahanpur-Basohli road and in Billawar area today with Traffic police ignoring the same. It shows that yesterday’s tragic accident and other such road mishaps which have taken a heavy toll of people have failed to teach a lesson to the concerned authorities.
