SRINAGAR : The train service in the Kashmir valley were suspended to avoid any accident today, following heavy snowfall on track.
A railway official said tracks remained under several feet of white blanket because of heavy snowfall during the night.
As a precautionary measure, the train services from Srinagar to Baramulla and Srinagar to Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in the Jammu region have been suspended due to heavy snowfall.
“The services will be resumed only after technical staff of the Railways inspect the track and give green signal,” he said.
This is the second time in the past one week when the rail services have been suspended in the Kashmir valley due to snowfall.
