Training course for officers begins at JU

JAMMU, Feb 23: An eight week long UGC -Training programme for officers of Jammu University, being organized by Academic Staff College, University of Jammu, commenced here today.
Inaugurating the training programme, Prof  R  D  Sharma, JU Vice Chancellor,  emphasized upon getting  acquainted with the University rules  and  regulations and to work as a team. He called upon the officers of the University to make  punctuality a regular feature as the same will go down the line.
Prof  Sharma further said that such type of programmes will help the trainees to get versed with the best and latest available. He also  asked them to make the best use of what they learn during the training programme.
Earlier Prof Rajnikant  underlined the importance of the training programme.
Meanwhile, a refresher course in Environment Sciences commenced in the Department of Environmental Sciences.
Prof Keshav Sharma , Controllor of Examination,  who was   the chief guest for the occasion, formally inaugurated the refresher course.  Prof  Rajkumar    Rampal, Head, Department of Environment Sciences, Prof Anil Raina, Prof Shashi Kant ,Dr Sanjay Sharma, Prof Amarjeet Singh Soodan and Dr Adarsh Vij from GNDU were also present.
Earlier Dr Deepika Salathia, course coordinator welcomed the teachers.
Ranjeet Kalra, Asstt Director ASC presented vote of thanks.  Around twenty five officers and forty teachers are participating in the respective UGC programmes.
