Training on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ starts at SKPA

UDHAMUR, Oct 10: Five-day training on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ sponsored by Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), commenced here today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA).
A total of 26 officers, ranging from Sub-Inspectors to the ranks of DySPs from Police of various States and J&K Police are actively participating in the training to enhance their knowledge and skills in investigation of cybercrime and cyber fraud cases.
During the course, participants will gain insights into implications of cybercrime, legal measures for countering it and they will acquire expertise in Cyber Forensics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for investigation of cybercrime cases.
An inaugural function was organized at SKPA in this regard where Garib Dass, ADGP, Director SKPA Udhampur presided over as chief guest and in his welcome address he provided an overview of various aspects of cybercrime, including Cyber Bullying, Stalking, Online Job fraud, Phishing, Virus & Trojans, Crypto-Jacking etc.
He emphasized on the increasing frequency of cybercrime in the virtual space and highlighted the need to equip law enforcement officials with necessary skills to effectively investigate cybercrimes.
The training program will feature eminent guest speakers from IIT Jammu, GCET Jammu and professionals from Cyber Police Station Jammu, Nayeem Abass Hamdani, a Cyber Consultant and faculty members from SKPA who will deliver lectures to the participants.
Additionally, hands-on sessions have been arranged to provide participants with practical experience in cybercrime investigation techniques.
The inaugural session was also attended by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor); Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, SSP, Dy. Director (Admn) and faculty of SKPA.
The course is being coordinated by Inspector Rohit Gupta and assisted by HC Randip Singh.
