PULWAMA, Mar 26: The five-day training programme on natural farming for Krishi Sakhis, organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Pulwama under National Mission on Natural Farming, concluded here today with a valedictory function attended by scientists, agricultural experts, officers/officials from KVK and JKRLM Pulwama.
The programme was aimed to equip Krishi Sakhis with scientific knowledge and practical skills to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly natural farming practices at grassroots level.
A total of 12 Krishi Sakhis from six clusters of Pulwama district participated in the training. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Ganie, Scientist at KVK Pulwama, who provided an overview of the training.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Scientist & Head of KVK Pulwama highlighted the importance of natural farming in ensuring soil health, reducing input costs and improving farm productivity.
Dr. Towseef Ahmad Wani, Master Trainer, stressed that natural farming is need of the hour to promote sustainable agriculture and enhance farmers’ income.
The training programme concluded with the distribution of training kits including bags, technical manual on natural farming, a brief note on National Mission on Natural Farming, awareness posters on natural farming, and other relevant materials.
Certificates were distributed to the participants and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Syed Shuja.
