Training of Principals, Teachers key to increased technology use: Rana

NAGROTA, Feb 1: MLA Nagrota and National Conference Provincial president, Devender Singh Rana has underscored the need for periodical training of Principals and Teachers to acquaint them with technological progressions, which is necessary for transferring to students effectively.
“Training is the key to increased technology use and therefore various initiatives being taken by the Dale Carnegie-Bharti Foundation would go a long way in enabling Principals and teachers to acquire a certain set of knowledge and skills to understand how and when various tools can support their curricula in best possible manner”, Mr Rana said at the concluding function of the two-day Leadership Empowerment Workshop held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kandoli in Nagrota.
In all, 30 Principals and teachers of the Government schools of Nagrota Assembly constituency participated in the workshop organized by Bharti Foundation.
Mr Rana exuded confidence that such workshops would provide much needed know-how to the teachers to make proper use of new educational tools. He expressed satisfaction over the implementation of initiative of the Bharti Foundation in the designated schools to achieve excellence in education.
Mr Rana acknowledged efforts of the Jammu Governorate of the Bharti Foundation in pulling out all stops to ensure that every child enjoys access to the highest quality of education. He said the combined efforts by the Foundation and the School Education Department have yielded dividends in terms of quality education and setting newer goals for young students to excel in academics. He said the youngsters of Nagrota were second to none and given chance they will show their immense mettle in immense measure.
The Quality Support Program supports Government Schools to improve the overall quality of schooling experience. As part of the partnership, Bharti Foundation will work with the school leadership and the Directorate of School Education, Jammu to jointly implement interventions that contribute towards enriching the overall schooling experience. This program stands to cover more than 3500 students and include 226 teachers across the 15 schools falling in 14 Halqa Panchayats of the 3 aforementioned blocks of Nagrota.
Director School Education, Ravinder Singh along with Chief Education Officer J K Sudan also spoke on the occasion.
Anil Bhat, Project Head of the Bharti Foundation highlighted the broad contours of the leadership workshop.
