LEH, Mar 11: With a view to giving a push to the Aadhaar enrolment in this district, a two days training programme for Aadhaar officials and operators was organized, which concluded today.
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in collaboration with IT Department J&K and support from the district administration organised the training and handholding session.
Experts from UIDAI were deputed to Leh for imparting the training for the officials and operators of Leh and Kargil district. Apart from fourteen moving ICDS enrolment operators who will enroll children of upto five years of age, two centres for the general public will be operated in J&K Bank branches, one Aadhaar enrolment centre with Department of Post in Leh and four centres with School Education Department. All the enrolment centres will be operational within week’s time, informed sources from the Information Technology Department.
Saugat Biswas, Secretary, IT Department, who is also Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh informed that in addition another six machines will become operational in the ICDS Department shortly whose services will be available in the far off areas of Leh. He also informed that the district administration will facilitate Aadhaar enrolment camps in needy areas in some time.
The training in Leh was supervised by Additional District Development Commissioner, Leh, Moses
Kunzang. Around thirty officials from Banks, Department of Post and School Education and ICDS attended the training programme. They will work as Aadhaar Operators to resolve different issues concerning various Registrars of Aadhaar.
Today, the expert of UIDAI conducted day long training of the ICDS officials at Leh. CDPOs and Supervisors of Leh and Kharu blocks and Anganwadi Workers from six blocks of Leh were present on the occasion. These Anganwadi workers of ICDS Department will act as Aadhaar operators for enrollment of the children upto 5 years old through portable tablets.
