Training program on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ begins at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: A five-day training course on “Investigation of Cyber Crime” began at the Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy here today.
As per a statement, eleven officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, ranging from Sub-Inspectors to Deputy Superintendents of Police, are participating in the program.
It said the course is designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of cybercrime and how to investigate it.
The course covers topics like hacking, phishing, identity theft, email bombing, fake profiles, cyber stalking, and more.
It also covers networking basics, internet services like e-banking and e-commerce, and cybercrime detection, focusing on malicious codes, viruses, financial fraud, and the latest cybercrime trends.
Expert faculty from academia and the academy will deliver lectures and provide practical insights.
The course was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, and Deputy Director (Indoor), who was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his address, Gupta stressed the importance of staying updated with modern investigative tools and techniques.
He also highlighted the vital role of first responders in effectively handling cybercrime cases.
Inspector Rohit Gupta is coordinating the course, with support from HC Randeep Singh.
