Training programme on Artificial Insemination concludes at SKUAST-J

JAMMU, Jan 13: A five- day training programme on the topic “Updates on Small Ruminant Reproduction and Artificial Insemination” held for the Paravets of Line Departments in the Division of Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu, concluded.
During this training programme since January 9, various gynecological & obstetrical techniques were displayed and problems were discussed among the scientists and field paravets. To overcome various field problems, a series of lectures and practical demonstrations were conducted by the scientists of the veterinary gynaecology field to the paravets so that they could in turn apply the AI techniques in small ruminants. Various gynaecological & obstetrical problems, AI techniques and other field problems were displayed and deliberated by different experts namely, Dr Utsav Sharma, Prof & Head, Division of VGO; Dr R K Sharma, Prof & Head, Division of Animal Nutrition; Dr Anil Kumar Pandey, Assoc Prof , VGO; Dr Sudhir Kumar, Assoc Prof VGO and Dr Sharad Kumar, Assoc Prof, VCC during the training programme.
Dr M S Bhadwal, Dean, FVSc & AH was the chief guest in the inaugural session. Dr Utsav Sharma, Prof & Head, VGO & Course Director, briefed about details of the various technical sessions.
The session ended with the address of Dr M S Bhadwal, who exhibited his contentment on the positive feedback of the participants. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sudhir Kumar, Assoc Prof VGO.
