Trains arrive late as foggy Jammu experiences coldest day

JAMMU, Dec 26: Trains in the winter capital arrived few hours late from their scheduled time as dense fog gripped the winter capital, which experienced the coldest day today.
“The winter capital of the State today witnessed coldest day of the season with minimum temperature dipping upto 7.9 degree Celsius and the maximum was recorded as 13.9 degree Celsius,” official sources here said.
They said the weather in the mountainous districts was mainly dry and in the next 24 hours, rain and snow would occur at isolated places across the State.
Meanwhile, trains at Jammu Tawi Railway Station reached two to ten hours late from their scheduled time due to dense fog gripping the region.
“Train number 12413, All Jat Express (Pooja Express), which was scheduled to arrive at Jammu Tawi at 0810 hrs was late by more than ten hours and reached 1830 hrs,” an official said.
Jammu Tawi Station has daily traffic of 25-30 trains to and fro and the visitors arriving Jammu are mostly the Vaishno Devi pilgrims or the Army personnel.
