Transfer orders of Maters, Lecturers kept in abeyance

JAMMU, Dec 15: The Commissioner/ Secretary Educ-ation has kept the transfer ordered  of Masters and Lecturers ordered by the Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, Gulzar Qureshi on the day of his transfer to Industries and Commerce department on December 12, 2012,  in abeyance.
In a Government order issued here today, vide No. DSEJ/Gen/2012/2088-2100, dated 17-12-2012, all the transfer orders of Masters/ Lecturers issued by Director School Education, Jammu Mr Qureshi on 12-12-2012 and onwards, have been kept in abeyance with immediate effect.
The action was taken by the Government after a lot of hue and cry was raised by department  staff after nearly 70 transfer orders of Masters  and Lecturers were issued by the Director on the day of his transfer. Even many teachers were removed in the mid -session without citing compelling circumstances.
The Commissioner /Secretary School Education even received several representations of the Masters and Lecturers and their unions in this concern,  alleging favouritism and unfair practices. Some legislators also took up the issue with the higher authorities, stating that many teachers were shifted without applying mind during mid-session, directly affecting students’ studies. Upon this, the Secretary issued orders here this afternoon and kept in abeyance all the orders issued  by the Director School Education, Jammu.
