Sir,
I fully appreciate the recent initiatives aimed at ameliorating the strenuous Shri Amarnathji Yatra for devotees. The recommendations put forth by the Geological Survey of India (GSI), such as ropeways and tunnels, along with the construction of infrastructure near the cave shrine, offer a ray of hope to countless pilgrims who embark on this sacred journey.
The lack of infrastructure improvements along the pilgrimage routes has resulted in numerous tragic incidents, and it is heartening to see the Government’s commitment to rectify this situation. The proposed projects, including the Chandanwari-Panchtarni-Sangam Top-Baltal road and innovative suggestions like ropeways and tunnels, are significant steps in ensuring the safety and comfort of the pilgrims.
The GSI’s recommendations address the pressing challenges of landslides and inclement weather, offering hope for a safer and more memorable pilgrimage. We commend the efforts of both the UT Administration and the Central Government in working together to transform the Shri Amarnathji Yatra into a safer and more enriching experience. It may take time, but the commitment is evident.
