Transparency, public consultation needed in planning decisions: SDP

JAMMU, Feb 19: More transparency and public consultation needed in planning decisions in all forms of Government, said the Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) Parliamentary candidate for Jammu-Poonch Constituency, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher during his four-day visit to hilly areas of Thanamandi, Rajouri and Nowshera.
He was accompanied by party president, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi and other SDP leaders, wherein they met with local people and listened to their grievances.
People highlighted their problems regarding water, electricity and road among other problems being confronted by them in the hilly areas and reposed faith in the policies of SDP and assured full support to the MP candidate of the party, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher in the upcoming elections.
In order to revamp the development in hilly terrains, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher said that SDP focussed attention on the all-round development of the remote and hilly areas, which are till date being overlooked by the successive Governments of the State.
He said, “Despite of the fact that a large number of people commute on the roads of Thanamandi, Rajouri and Nowshera, the Government is giving no heed to the long pending demand of restoration of the roads, which are in a worst condition and become accident prone.
He further assured people of full-fledged development in the hilly areas, spanning from road connectivity to basic facilities, which people in hilly and remote areas are facing.
