Transport Comm visits Kupwara, reviews services

Kupwara, July 16: Transport Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara on his two day visit to Kupwara district, reviewed the efficiency of transport services in the district.
Transport Commissioner today visited Tangdar where he participated in a Road Safety Road Show at Sumo Stand Tangdar and administered the road safety pledge to hundreds of participants.
Highlighting the road safety, the Commissioner urged the concerned to minimize road accidents and save lives in the district by execution of comprehensive development plans.
He also visited the first village of the country, Seemari Teetwal which is located on Zero Line and assessed transport facilities there and interacted with the locals and sought their feedback.
Earlier, on reaching Kupwara, the Transport Commissioner inspected the ARTO Kupwara’s Office and took on-spot appraisal of online services “Vahan” and “Saarthi” and meticulously scrutinized the implementation of these online services offered by the department. On the occasion, he emphasized on the importance of timely service delivery to ensure smooth and effective operations for the general public.
The Transport Commissioner also engaged with the staff members of the ARTO office, reviewing their work assignments and directing them to resolve any pending tasks swiftly. He emphasized the importance of addressing public grievances in a timely manner.
He participated in a blood donation camp at Kupwara Bus Stand which was organized by ARTO Kupwara in collaboration with transporters of Kupwara district.
The Commissioner held a meeting with Transport Associations from the district, during which he was apprised about various issues affecting the transport sector. He assured the representatives that their genuine demands would be addressed promptly, reinforcing the department’s commitment to supporting the transport community.
The Transport Commissioner was accompanied by RTO Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari and ARTO Kupwara, Bilal Ahmed Mir.
