JAMMU, July 9: All J&K Motors Transport Companies Representatives/ Agents Association today announced its office bearers in its general body meeting held here at Press Club.
The newly elected body comprised of Gajan Singh as president, Farman Ali as chairman, Jagmohan Singh as vice-chairman, Jugal Sharma as senior vice-president, Vicky Khajuria and Ravinder Singh as vice-presidents, Gurvinder Singh as general secretary and Gurdeep Singh as well as Raju Jamwal as secretaries.
Besides, Pankaj Sharma, Shanker Singh and Vijay Sharma were announced as advisors and Kulwant Singh, Jagjeet Singh and Satinder Singh as members.
Meanwhile, the newly elected body also discussed problems being faced by the association in RTO office. Addressing the meeting, president, Gajan Singh, expressed concern over 10-15% unauthorized agents working in RTO Office, Jammu. He said that these agents are cheating the innocent persons by making false and forged documents and thereby defaming not only the association but also the RTO Office.
He suggested that an office of the association should be set up in RTO office complex like other offices and departments, where identity of agents are available and customers can easily approach to genuine agents for their work.
Criticizing the move of the Transport authorities to abolish agent system, he demanded that the poor agents be allowed to work so that they can earn their living.
