Treat couple injured in firing: Speaker

Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone today directed the Government to provide specialised treatment to a couple, injured in firing by Pakistani troops in Samba sector in Jammu recently.
Intervening during the discussion on LPG crisis in the State, some members, particularly Yash Paul Kundal of National Panthers Party (NPP) from Jammu said a couple was working in their fields near the border in Samba sector when Pakistani troops resorted to indiscriminate and unproked firing on Indian positions recently.
Mr Kundal said the couple received some bullet injuries and were rushed to hospital.
He said the since the family is very poor, the Government should grant a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to them.
The member said the Government should provide specialised treatment to the couple and bear all the expenses.
Mr Lone immediately directed the Government to provide all medical treatment to injured couple and bear all the expenses on their treatment.
However, he did not said anything about the demand of   compensation.
BJP member Durgas Das wanted to raise the issue of discovery of tunnel on the border, to which the Speaker said this is an old issue and the tunnel will be filled. (UNI)
