JAMMU, Nov 13: Non-Secretariat Darbar Move Employees Federation has urged upon the State authorities to treat Secretariat and Non-Secretariat move employees equally while providing benefits.
In a meeting of the members of the Non-Sectt Move Employees Federation led by its president Ovais Wani, Kulwant Singh-president Accounts Employees Association president and EJAC leader, Babu Hussain Malik, held with the Governor’s Advisor K K Sharma here today, the delegation expressed strong resentment over the discriminatory attitude of the state authorities towards Non-Sectt move employees.
They strongly demanded that both type of employees should be treated equally and old bias practice be stopped forthwith. They also demanded that they should also be provided residential accommodation as per rules, ( 60:40) quota, that is 40 % Estates quarters be provided to them. Moreover every move employee even the casual labour should be treated move employee if they are also on move every year.
They pointed out that the Govt has failed to provide safe and secure accommodation to the especially female non-secretariat move employees in Jammu or even in Srinagar. The employees from Ladakh and Jammu also face the same situation in Kashmir during move.
The employees delegation also submitted a memorandum to the Advisor with certain more demands like- special quota of Government accommodation/ hotel for female/ handicapped move employees, SRO 202 should not made applicable to move employees, provide CAPD ration to every move employee, issue special I-Cards to Non-Sectt move employees for visiting to Secretariat and provide office room to the Federation in the Civil Sect as done for other two unions. They also demanded to remove pay anomalies in the grades of the clerical cadre.
The Advisor listened to their issues patiently and gave positive assurance for solving the same.
