UDHAMPUR, Apr 29: A 5-day course on “Use of Space application in policing including Drone Technology, Interception and Investigation” which commenced on April 25, culminated at SK Police Academy here today.
A total 22 officers from different wings of J&K Police participated in the training program. The course has been designed to meet the basic objectives like general overview Satellite, Orbits Remote Sensing, GIS, general overview of GPS and communication, GIS and tools for crime mapping, methods for predictive crimes, Communication equipment’s including Mobile Phones, Algorithms, Model based Drone detection, machine learning based Drone detection, Drone Technology, Interception and Investigation and Futuristic Technology, discussion and practical demonstrations on Drone.
To meet the desired objectives eminent guest speakers from IIT Jammu and faculty from Cyber Police Station Jammu were invited to share their wide range of knowledge and experience among the participants.
A valediction function was organized in the Academy. Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Dy Director (Indoor/Trgs) SKPA was chief guest on the occasion. Gupta laid expressed that Technology is a collection of human knowledge, abilities, skills, experiences, and methods that can be used to alter, modify, and make use of our available resources to develop tools, machines, goods, and services that satisfy our needs and desires. He said technology today has a special place in everyone’s life. It already conquered all sectors of life, including the country’s law enforcement. He laid emphasis to share the knowledge acquired with co-follows of their respective wing.
The course was coordinated by Sanjeev Gupta, Inspector and Sukhvir Singh, SI SKPA Udhampur.
