JAMMU, June 14: `Savior of Kashmir’, Brig Rajinder Singh was today paid rich tribute on his 124th birth anniversary.
In this connection, Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, organized a simple function wherein participants paid tributes to the son of the soil and remembered his supreme sacrifice for the mother land.
On the occasion, Dean Students Welfare, Prof Prakash Antahal informed that JU is going to install a life size sculpture of Brig Rajinder Singh at a prominent location near Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium as a mark of reverence to this braveheart of Duggar Land and this will be a source of inspiration for the young students.
Those who paid tribute on the occasion, included Prof. Monika Sethi, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee; Prof Vishav Raksha, Prof Sarika Manhas, Dr. Anil Gupta, Dr Garima Gupta, Dr Pritam Singh, Dr Shallu Sharma, Dr A R Manhas, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dr Virender Koundal and others.
The residents of Rajinderpura village also celebrated the 124th birthday of Brig Rajinder Singh his native place. A large number of dignitaries both from Govt and civil administration attended the function. JKESL delegation also participated and paid floral tributes to the “Saviour of Kashmir”.
Members of the Yuva Rajput Sabha also paid their homage at Rajinder Chowk behind new Secretariat. Usha Parmar and his grand son Hamir Pratap Singh also paid floral tributes to Brig Rajinder Singh.
