RS PURA, Jan 14: Rich tribute were paid on the occasion of 99th birth anniversary of Thakur Baldev Singh Chib, former president of Amar Kshatriya (Rajput), Sabha in a ‘Shardhanjali’ function held, in his native village, Satrayan in RS Pura today.
The function was presided over by RS Chib, former Minister and a large number of prominent persons, paid their rich tribute to Thakur Baldev Singh.
Chib while addressing the participants, described Th B S Chib a saintly figure, a great social activist and an epitome of simple living. He further said that, he was an eminent writer, who authored more than seven books on different subjects.
Many prominent persons including- Prof Jai Singh, Sarpanch Gurdyal Singh Majotra, Prof Sohan Singh, Lecturer, Rajdev Singh, Arjun Singh, Kehar Singh, Bhagat Darshan Lal, Raghunath Singh ex- Sarpanch, Panch Roshan Singh paid their rich tribute to Th Baldev Singh and highlighted his contribution in the social field.
In the end, the Lohri was celebrated by a large number of men and children and the Lohri fire was lit, by Chanting Gayatri Mantra. This is regular feature, every year and the similar Lohri, function is organized on the occasion of birth anniversary of Th BS Chib, in his remembrance. He used to celebrate Lohri with children of that area, every year, during his lifetime.
