Cleanliness drives organized across J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Oct 2: To pay tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th Jayanti and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on 119th birth anniversary, a number of functions including cleanliness drives were organized across Jammu and Kashmir as well as the union territory of Ladakh.
A function was organized at Madarassa markaz Al-Marif at Bathandi to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Addressing the function, BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana said that PM Modi has transformed the whole thinking about the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and has turned his dreams into action. “Earlier, October 2 was just a holiday, now it’s a true tribute ‘Swachannjali’ to Mahatma Gandhi when the whole nation is galvanized to clean their surroundings on the call of PM Modi,” he added.
Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board & Minister of State, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today led mega cleanliness drives of J&K Waqf Board at famous Sufi shrines of Makhdoom Sahib and Dastagir Sahib in Srinagar. Fire & Emergency Services Department and Srinagar Municipal Coorporation also assisted in the cleanliness drives. Dr Andrabi was accompanied by the members of the Waqf Board Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem and Mohammad Syed Haqqani. Similar drives were undertaken by the Board at the shrines at Chrar-e-Sharief and Pakherpora also.
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retired) participated in the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti at New Raj Niwas. The LG and the First Lady Neelam Mishra paid obeisance along with floral tribute to Gandhiji and Shastriji. On the occasion, the LG announced a 20% hike in the salaries of the sanitation workers of Municipal Committee Leh. Highlighting the significance of October 2 in Indian history, the LG said, “We observe such important days because only a few selected leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri put the country before themselves and made numerous sacrifices for the country’s independence from the British colonial rule. Advisor to LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal; Principal Secretary, Sanjiv Khirwar; Commissioner Secretary, Padma Angmo, Commissioner Secretary, Mehboob Ali Khan; Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar and Heads of various departments were also present.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K led by its senior leaders undertook a number of cleanliness campaigns in the entire region on the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. BJP leaders also organized various ‘Sewa’ programmes like medical camps and blood donation camps. Senior BJP leaders also purchased Khadi products and prompted others to promote Khadi usage. J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi Lal Bahadur Shastri at Satwari Chowk in Jammu. Accompanied by other BJP leaders, he cleaned the statue of Gandhiji at Satwari Chowk and the nearby area. J&K BJP general secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul participated in the cleanliness campaign under Sewa Pakhwada at Sher-e-Kashmir Park, Srinagar.
National Conference Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah paid glowing tribute and homage to Mahatma Gandhi at party’s provincial headquarters Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. In his address to the party functionaries, Dr Farooq said that the day is not only commemorated as the birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji but also his timeless values of nonviolence, social justice and communal harmony. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra (additional general secretary), Rattan Lal Gupta (provincial president, Jammu), Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and Pardeep Bali (provincial secretaries) and other party leaders also paid tribute to Gandhiji.
Vowed to continue with the principles of Gandhian ideology, the DPAP chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that in present times the ideals of nonviolence, Truth, unity and justices are some of the founding principles that Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) believes in. “These principals are the bedrock of our party’s ideology and my vision for Jammu and Kashmir,” he told at the celebration function of Gandhi Jayanti in DPAP office, Srinagar. On the occasion, Gandhi Global Foundation also felicitated Azad for promoting the Gandhian ideology throughout his life. Taj Mohiuddin (treasurer), vice chairman GM Saroori, SP Verma, Mohd Amin Bhatt (provincial president) and Salman Nizami (chief spokesperson) were also present.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari paid glowing tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “This day not only marks the birthday of the Father of the Nation but also celebrates his legacy and his profound teachings of non-violence.” He said Gandhiji’s teachings and principles are still a beacon of light for the entire nation to live a peaceful and harmonious life.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) observed 154th Gandhi Jayanti at Srinagar Party office. JKPCC also remembered former Prime Minister Lal Bhadur Shastri on his 119 birth anniversary. Congress leaders and workers was led by former JKPCC president Peerzada Mohd Sayeed to pay floral tribute to Gandhiji and Shastriji. Former legislator Ghulam Nabi Monga, Surinder Singh Channi and Abdul Gani Khan also paid tribute to Gandhi and Shastri.
In Jammu, the JKPCC leaders gathered at the Gandhi Statue in Satwari Chowk to pay floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and commemorate late Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani, working president PCC Raman Bhalla, Yogesh Sawhney (former minister) and other senior party leaders were present. The Congress leaders paid their respects with floral tribute and remembered the unsurpassed contributions of the leaders as imprinted in the history of India.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, welcomed the Shanti Yatra to Jammu district, a commemorative expedition organized by the Directorate of School Education Jammu to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. The grand reception took place at Padma Shri Sachdev Government PG College for Women Gandhinagar, where a splendid function was held to honour the winners of various competitions and the enthusiastic participants of the Yatra. On the occasion, students of Higher Education Department and School Education Department presented a splendid cultural programme depicting life history of Gandhi Ji.
BJP OBC Morcha organized a blood donation camp at Government Medical College, Jammu, to mark the birth anniversaries of Gandhiji and Shastriji. Dr Devinder Manyal (former minister and general secretary J&K BJP) inaugurated the camp. Sunil Prajapati (State president BJP OBC Morcha), Suresh Salgotra (vice president BJP OBC Morcha), Ravi Mehra (vice president BJP OBC Morcha), Ashok Verma (Stare secretary BJP OBC Morcha), Purushottam Kumar (State social media secretary), Sanjay Kumar (State executive member), Ashok Salgotra (district president BJP OBC Morcha) and other Party leaders were present in the camp.
Under the banner of nationwide campaign “Swatchhata Hi Seva”, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu held a cleanliness drive at the premises of District Court Complex Jammu. Smriti Sharma (Secretary, DLSA, Jammu) started the event along with Kamlesh Pandit (Additional District Judge, Bank Cases Jammu). After that traditional lightning of lamp was lit by Sanjay Parihar, Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu (Chairman, DLSA Jammu). Thereafter, Bala Jyoti, the Special Judge of the Anti-Corruption CBI Court Jammu talked about cleanliness and hygiene, keeping in mind Gandhiji’s teaching.
DLSA Pulwama in collaboration with the District Judiciary Pulwama organized a cleanliness drive and observed Ghandhi Jayanti. The drive witnessed staff in cleaning the premises under the supervision of Chairman DLSA Pulwama, Naseer Ahmad Dar. The event commenced with the “Swatchhata Pledge” administered by the Chairman DLSA. The Program was attended by judicial officers, staff of the Judiciary Pulwama, staff of DLSA Pulwama and Para Legal Volunteers. Cleanliness drives were also undertaken at Talukas, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore, Awantipora and Tral.
To commemorate 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, DLSA Udhampur organized a programme at District Court Complex Udhampur. The programme was organized under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Udhampur Haq Nawaz Zargar in which Additional District and Session Judge Dinesh Gupta, Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Parihar, Secretary DLSA Ajay Kumar, Bar president Advocate JD Slathia and others took part. On the occasion, Swachhata Pledge was administered to Judicial officers, Bar members and judicial employee to promote cleanliness, hygiene and environmental sustainability.
DLSA Bhaderwah observed Gandhi Jayanti in the court premises under the supervision of chairman DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah) Sunit Gupta and Secretary DLSA (Sub Judge) Ramesh Lal. On the occasion, PLVs, staff of the court, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Bhaderwah Sanjay Kumar Sharma and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik also offered floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
As part of Union Government’s ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ campaign, J&K Bank wholeheartedly participated in the nation-wide cleanliness drive across its area of operations in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and in rest of the country. MD & CEO Baldev Prakash led the team of General Managers Ashutosh Sareen, Syed Rais Maqbool and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat besides other officials during one such drive wherein the enthusiastic officials swept the surroundings of Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) Srinagar clean while collecting all the organic and inorganic trash from the road sides. In Jammu, the cleanliness drive was led by General Manager and Divisional Head Sunit Kumar.
In commemoration of the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a significant Gram Sabha was convened at Panchayat Saranoo in Rajouri, which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal. The event saw the attendance of Sarpanch, Panches and local residents, besides representatives from key departments. The proposed works were carefully curated and decided upon with the unanimous consent of the Sarpanch, Panchs and local community members. Addressing the gathering, the DC shared inspiring insights on the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. He reminded everyone present of the timeless values of truth, non-violence, and community service that Gandhiji espoused throughout his life.
Jammu Municipal Corporation successfully concluded its ‘Swachha Hi Sewa 2023’ initiative. The event was aimed to inspire and engage citizens in collective efforts to create a cleaner and garbage-free India. Distinguished guests present on this occasion were Mayor Rajinder Sharma, Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Chairman Standing Committee Health and Sanitation, Arun Kumar Khanna, Councillors, Commissioner of JMC, Rahul Yadav, Joint Commissioner H&S, Kulbhushan Khajuria, Joint commissioner Works, Rajesh Sumbria, Health Officer Vinod Sharma and others.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in District Jail Jammu under the supervision of Superintendent Jail Harish Kotwal. All the participants including Jail staff, CRPF personnel and Jail inmates paid rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and highlighted the autobiography of Gandhiji on the occasion. Apart from above, one life convict prisoner was also released from the Jail by the orders of J&K Government.
A cleanliness awareness drive which includes cleaning of Solar Power Panel and Equipment area was organized at Jammu Airport by Airports Authority of India as a part of “Swachhata hi Sewa” special campaign 3.0. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Kumar Garg, Airport Director, emphasized that the surrounding of the Airport reflects the face and soul of the city and to keep the areas free from garbage is pertinent.
Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign, which commenced on September 15 2023 reached its culmination on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Pushpanjali was given on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Satwari Chowk by CEO Cantonment Board Jammu with other officials and Swachhta Doot awards and Best Swacchta Worker award were given.
Provincial general secretary of DPAP Jammu Advocate Maheshwar Singh Manhas paid floral tribute to Mahataam Gandhi at Party’s Block office, Janipur (Paloura). Ashok Khajuria (vice-president, Jammu zone), madan Pal Singh (vice president, Jammu Urban) Pawan Kumar (Block president, Janipur Paloura) and several other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
Government ITI Jammu and Women ITI Jammu organized a plantation drive led by officers/officials of Skill Development Department, in collaboration with Forest Department, to pay tribute to Mahatama Gandhi. The dignitaries that graced the occasion include Suresh Kumar Gupta (PCCF/Director, Social Forestry Department J&K), Sudershan Kumar (Director, Skill Development Department), Mohinder Kumar Gupta (Regional Director, Social Forestry) and other senior officers.
Paying tribute to the Father of the Nation on his 154th birth anniversary, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) paid a floral tribute to Gandhiji at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi. Atul Sobti (Director General, SCOPE) garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion and said, “We are fortunate to be born in the country of a leader like Mahatma Gandhi, whose teachings and values are as relevant in the present times, as they were in the past.”
CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu started a special month-long campaign for improving Swachhata and minimizing pendency in Government offices by paying floral tribute to Mahatama Gandhi. Dr Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM inaugurated the campaign after paying floral tribute on the portrait of Gandhiji. The Scientific, Technical, administration staff members, students and other workers also paid homage to Gandhiji.
NSS Units of Government College for Women (GCW) Parade (Jammu) culminated their 3-day-long cleanliness drives on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. Under the supervision of the College Principal Dr SP Sarswat, almost 50 NSS volunteers participated in the cleanliness drives.
Samiksha, the Society for Promotion of Inclusive and Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the management, staff and the student inmates of J&K Government Pahari Boys Hostel, Keran (Jammu) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm, under the guidance of Sapna Kotwal (Secretary, Pahari Advisory Board, J&K). The celebrations comprised of Swachhta (cleanliness) pledge, tree plantation and cleanliness drive, besides paying rich tribute to Mahatama Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Watershed Management Programme launched a cleanliness drive at tourist spot Nalthi near Bhaderwah, Doda. More than 300 students of two schools and officials of IWMP led by Dr Bharat Bhushan (Chief Executive Officer, IWMP) undertook the cleanliness drive in and on the banks of river Neeru of picturesque Bhaderwah Valley. Ashok Kumar (FA/Chief Accounts Officer, IWMP), Shakeeb Ahmad Rather (Deputy Director of Rural Development Department) and Phulail Singh (Assistant Commissioner Development, Doda) were also present on the occasion.
GDC Paloura concluded a comprehensive two-week-long celebration of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The extensive festivities featured a wide array of activities including an extensive cleanliness drive that spanned the adopted village, college campus and its surroundings, echoing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’s vision of a cleaner and greener India.
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre Jammu organized Shramdan activity under Swachhta Pakhwada and the officers of the RC, staff, Coordinators of Learner Support Centres and students of IGNOU participated and made the event a grand success. The PG Department of Education at University of Jammu conducted a massive cleanliness drive as part of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. The campus witnessed a transformative effort as the participants cleaned pathways, clogged drains, the garden area, parking spaces, roads and roadsides.
To mark 154th Gandhi Jayanti, Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Central University of Kashmir organized an online lecture on ‘Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy and New Educational Policy in India’. Speaking on the occasion Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath said, during contemporary times, Gandhian philosophy is utmost important and has to be given practical shape by imparting life-skills and experiential learning to students.
Indian Institute of Management Jammu celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti and paid rich tribute to these great personalities. Prof. B.S Sahay, Director IIM Jammu, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu and others underscored the commitment of the institute to uphold the values and principles cherished by these great leaders of freedom.
NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of GCW Gandhi Nagar celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by taking pledge on International Day of Non-Violence and Nasha Mukt J&K to honour the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College along with Prof. Mala Bhasin, NSS Coordinator CLUJ & Staff Secretary, Lt. Revika Arora, Prof. Anupama, Lt. Suman Bala, Lt. Neelima and Prof. Sugandha participated in pledge taking with the aim of emulating the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Research & Development Cell in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Govt. PG College Rajouri organized one day international web conference on ‘Gandhian Philosophy of Non-Violence and Sustainable Development’ to mark International Day of Non-Violence (Gandhi Jayanti). Ela Gandhi, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi and noted peace activist was keynote speaker and chief guest whereas Principal of College, Prof. Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad presided over the proceedings of the event.
GDC Kalakote conducted a series of activities in the fortnight of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora. The activities included poster-making, quiz competition, seminar, screening of documentary (Gandhi Ji’s Satyagrah), declamation contest, awareness programme on drug abuse, cleanliness drives and pledge against non-violence and drug abuse. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora shared her views about Gandhi Ji’s life and his role in freedom struggle.
NCC/NSS Unit of GDC Nowshera celebrated 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. A series of events like seminar on Truth and Non-Violence, cleanliness drive and pledge on anti-drug and non-violence were organised. All the activities were conducted under the supervision of Dr. K.K Sharma, Principal of the College.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by Government Degree College Ramban under the aegis of its Principal Prof. Archana Koul. The programme started with paying of floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Kaul emphasized on the significance of Gandhian Philosophy of truth and non-violence in contemporary times.
Under Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, the NSS Unit of GDC Bishnah organized a cleanliness drive and pledge taking ceremony. The NSS volunteers took pledge on Swachhata as well as the ideals espoused by Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking on the occasion, Kamal Singh, Sarpanch of Halqa Panchayat Ratnal appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers.
NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Govt. Degree College, Vijaypur under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign organised door-to-door awareness educating citizens regarding the importance and health benefits of cleanliness. The cleanliness drive and campaign was launched by Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta. The event culminated with Swachhta pledge by students and staff of the College.
On Mahatma Gandhi’s 154th birth anniversary, students, faculty and staff of Govt. Degree College Marh conducted two day cleanliness drive and celebrated International Day of Non-Violence. A pledge on Swachhata Abhiyan was taken by the students, teachers, Panches, Sarpanches and civil society members of the adopted village Dhateryal. The entire programme was organised under the supervision of Principal of the College, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul.
Government Degree College Ramgarh organized an online Extension Lecture on ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ and pledge ceremony on ‘Nasha Mukt J&K’ and Non-Violence’ to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti 2023. The event was organized under the guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College who while speaking on the occasion said that Mahatma Gandhi was a beacon of non-violence movement.
On 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a cleanliness drive was organised by Government Degree College Kastigarh. Principal of the College, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra while speaking on the occasion threw light on the principles of truth and non-violence taught by Gandhi Ji.
The 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated at District level and programmes were organised at Govt. Girls HSS Reasi which were inaugurated by Chief Education Officer Reasi, Sunita Bali. Principal Govt. Girls HSS Reasi, Sushma Mawa welcomed the special guests. During the programme teachers and students of adjoining Schools like Govt. Boys HSS Reasi, Girls HSS Reasi, Gurukul Public HSS Reasi and Trikuta Shiksha Niketan HS Reasi also participated.
Gandhi Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Vijaypur celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. The occasion was graced by DC Samba, Abhishek Sharma as chief guest. CEO Samba, Kewal Krishan also marked his presence in the event. Many programmes based on the theme of Gandhian principles were presented during the event.
The Jammu Warriors Front chairman Rajesh Gupta paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Gupta spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings and philosophy, emphasizing his dedication towards uplift of the deprived and downtrodden. He urged participants to follow Gandhi’s path and spread messages of peace, prosperity, and progress.
On Gandhi Jayanti, students and staff of B.N Higher Secondary School Sunjwan participated in a series of events. In a special assembly they recited quotes from Gandhi’s life and sung patriotic songs, delivered speeches and participated in poster making activities. Principal of the institution, Aasiya Shabir Banday informed students about timeless wisdom and principles that Mahatma Gandhi stood for.
An impressive program was organized at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Boys Kishtwar to commemorate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The event commenced with the administration of the Non-Violence pledge to students from various Government and private schools besides the staff of educational institutions and Municipal Council Kishtwar. Deputy Commissioner (In-Charge)/ADDC Sham Lal along with Chairman Municipal Council Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Najjar paid floral tribute to Gandhiji and Shastriji.
To mark the occasion, a cleanliness drive was organized at JMC Ward number 44 to spread awareness how to make our surroundings neat and clean. In addition to this, Sanitation Incharge Deepak Kumar and his team was honoured for their extraordinary contributions in making the ward neat and clean.
Today on Gandhi Jayanti, a Balsanskar Sammelan concluded at Sant Shri Asharamji Bapu Ashram, Bhagwati Nagar (Jammu). During the 2-day Sammelan, volunteers who perform the service of Balsanskar Kendra in all the districts of J&K UT were trained by trainers from Ahmedabad namely Vardha, Kanchan and Gurvinder. They taught them how they can guide children in their Bal Sanskar Kendras about the good habits of respecting their elders and becoming a good citizen of the nation.
Colonel Mahan Singh (Retired), Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) in Kathua, along with DDC Member Basohli, paid heartfelt homage to the Father of the Nation, in a moving ceremony at SC Basti Tandua, Plakh Panchayat. In addition to the DDC Chairman, several dedicated individuals were in attendance, including local BJP workers such as Capt Harnam Singh, Yubkaran Singh, Mohinder Singh, Angrez Singh, as well as community leader Ramesh Chander.

To commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Dohaareen Kala Manch, Billawar organized a national level creative reels, ticktocks making and online quiz competition under the guidance of Shuvam Mankotia, president Dohaareen Kala Manch, Billawar. Theme of both events was to throw light on Gandhi’s life, thoughts and his philosophy.
‘The Bicycle for Change’ club celebrated birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji with a cycle rally in Kathua /flagged off by chief guest Uttam Singh, representing District Administration and serving as Chief Planning Officer. Gandhi Bhawan Committee at Civil Secretariat Road in Jammu celebrated birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Dr. Gautam Mengi, president Gandhi Bhawan Committee delivered welcome address. Anil Masoom, JMC Councillor was chief guest. Tribute were paid to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji. Keynote speaker, Jagdish expressed his views on Gandhi Ji and Shastri Ji.
Commissioner Lane in Shastri Nagar, Jammu was selected by Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Jammu for ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ and the cleanliness of this lane was ensured under the supervision of Dushyant Pande, In-charge Employees’ State Insurance. S.K Sharma, Commissioner, Income Tax Department (Retd.) was chief guest and while speaking on the occasion he discussed in detail the other works done during ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign and everyone took a pledge to continue this campaign.
On Gandhi Jayanti, IRP 19th Battalion under the supervision of Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma, Commandant IRP-19th Bn launched cleanliness campaign at Kathua, Chadwal, Lakhanpur, Billawar, Basholi, Bani and in Samba district in which hundreds of officers and Jawans including women officials participated.
