JAMMU, June 17: Kashmiri Pandit community, under the banner of Amar Balidan Society, today paid rich tribute to Late Hira Lal Chatta on his 10th death anniversary.
During the tribute paying function at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Bohri Jammu, former Chief Secretary Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the selfless works of Late H L Chatha, especially after the forced migration of Kashmiri Pandit community from the valley in 1990.
Ajay Bharti and Prof B L Zutshi, recalled their personal experiences with Late Chatha and said that such leaders emerge after decades in a community.
Moti Malla, the long term associate of Late Hira Lal Chatha and chairman of Amar Balidan Trust, threw light on struggle of the late leader for seeking justice to the uprooted KP community.
R K Raina and A K Raina also spoke on the occasion and appealed the community people to follow the footsteps of Late Chatta for achieving the objectives of Kashmiri Pandit community.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included A K Braroo, B K Sanyasi, Dr T K Bhat, Prof Virender, Hira Lal Bhat, C L Pandita and Sundri Lal Fotedar. Vote of thanks was presented by C L Bhat while proceedings were conducted by S K Bhat.
