JAMMU, Dec 8: Social Welfare Committee Jawahar Nagar, New Plot here today organised a Shradhanjali Samaroh to pay tribute to Lt. Mangat Ram, ex-president of this social organisation who expired four years back.
On this occasion residents of Jawahar Nagar and executive members of different organisation along with Sat Pal Sharma, BJP J&K president and Yudhvir Sethi, MLA paid rich tribute to Mangat Ram.
The gathering remembered him in establishing Jawahar Nagar Colony in 1980 for poor masses.
At present this colony has 600 houses.
Sanmukh Singh Wazir, 82, resident of this colony and close associate of Lt. Mangat Ram detailed in his speech about the whole struggle made for establishing the colony.
Other dignitaries who paid tribute were Rajan (president), Devinder Singh (chairman), Rakesh Verma, Bansi Lal Choudhary, Ram Lal (general secretary), Jagdish Kashyap, president Roop Nagar Colony, Surinder Singh, Balwant Raj, Ranjeet Singh, Vijay Bharti, Sukhdev Raj, Madan Lal, Balwant Raj and others..
