Tribute paid to martyred CRPF Inspector

UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Last respect was paid to slain CRPF Inspector Kuldeep Kumar, who attained martyrdom in an ambush by terrorists in Cheel area of Dudu-Basantgarh, here yesterday.

A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the headquarters of the 187th battalion of CRPF in Battal Ballian in which Additional Director General CRPF Amrit Mohan Prasad and other senior officers of various forces paid tributes to Kumar.
Several officers of Civil administration, Army and Police, including DIG Udhampur Reasi Range, Raees Ahmad Bhat and DySP Headquarters Udhampur, DySP DAR, SHO Udhampur also paid tributes to the martyred officer, whose mortal remains were later sent to his native place in Haryana for the last rites.
Kumar was killed when Pakistan sponsored terrorists opened fire on a patrol party in remote area of Cheel in tehsil Dudu on Monday. An intense search operation to track down the terrorists, who fled the site of encounter is underway in Cheel-Dudu belt of Basantgarh area.
