Tribute paid to martyrs

JAMMU, Aug 7: The Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Shivshakti Branch, Greater Kailash, Jammu, held a plantation drive titled “One Tree in the Name of Nation’s Martyrs” at Cybernetic Sec School, Jammu.
The event began with a warm reception for chief guests Devraj Sharma, Ravinder Singh and Safeer Hussain Shah, welcomed by the BVP Greater Kailash team, school band, children and management, all holding placards and chanting environmental slogans.
The Mahila Wing of BVP and school staff performed a song on environmental conservation.
The chief guests, including Rakesh Sharma, President of BVP Greater Kailash Branch and Commandant SSB Panchanan Mahajan, alongside defense personnel, initiated the tree planting to honor the Nation’s martyrs.
Four teams, comprising the Social Forestry Department, BVP organization, school management & children, and defense forces, planted around 30-40 medicinal quality plants. School children also contributed individually.
Rakesh Sharma concluded the event with a vote of thanks, acknowledging Dr Devraj Sharma’s guidance, the Social Forestry Department, SSB Commandant, school management, and all participants for their support.
The event ended with the National Anthem and light refreshments, marking a successful tribute to the nation’s martyrs and commitment to environmental stewardship.
