SUCHETGARH, Oct 1: On the martyrdom day of Rifleman Shubham Sharma, Congress leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member, Suchetgarh, Tarnjit Singh Tony organised a tribute ceremony here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Tony said, “India will remain forever indebted to our martyrs, like Shubham Sharma, who have laid down their lives to protect our nation’s sovereignty. The lamp of freedom that we enjoy today continues to burn brightly because of the undying spirit and dedication of these brave souls.”
He called upon the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of martyrs like Shubham Sharma and to take their commitment to the welfare and security of the nation to heart.
Tony further stressed the importance of preserving the hard-earned freedom and security that the nation cherishes, and urged all citizens to honor the legacy of these heroes by upholding the values they fought to protect.
Rifleman Shubham Sharma, serving valiantly with the 8-JAK RIF, immortalized his name in the annals of heroism when he attained martyrdom on October 1, 2020, while defending our nation during an unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Naugam sector of Kupwara. His supreme act of courage stands as an enduring testament to the unwavering commitment of our armed forces in safeguarding India’s sovereignty and security.
