JAMMU, Mar 23: Rich tribute were paid to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev by various social and political organisations in separate functions.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir, commemorated the martyr day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and paid floral tribute to them in a programme held here today.
Former Dy. Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta accompanied by Priya Sethi and other senior party leaders remembered the struggle of the youth icons in the fight to achieve the freedom of Bharat Mata.
Tilak Raj Gupta, Rajiv Charak, Rajni Sethi, Balbir Ram Rattan, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, Naresh Singh, Jeet Angral, Hansraj Loria, Yashpal Shivgotra, Prerna Nanda, Krishan Kumar Digra, Sanjay Bakshi, Ramesh Katoch, and other leaders also paid tribute to the great revolutionaries on the occasion.
Kavinder Gupta, while paying tribute to the martyrs, said that the trio of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru have made the supreme sacrifice in the revered feet of Bharat Mata. Their sacrifice, he said, inspired millions of people and fueled the freedom struggle against the British rule. He said that, today, we are able to breathe and roam in free environment, as thousands of these laid down their lives, were butchered mercilessly and innocents including children suffered the inhumane tortures but didn’t buckle up before the atrocities of foreign invaders. We must respect their sacrifices and never forget that they laid down their lives for our freedom, he added.
Priya Sethi, on the occasion, said that our every second of life is indebted to the supreme sacrifices made by these great martyrs. She said that it is our duty to recognize and then fight with any force that even thinks to do any harm to the sovereignty and integrity of our nation.
Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) also organized a programme to remember freedom fighters Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
The programme was presided over by the Association Chairman, Rajiv Mahajan while Patron-in-chief, Ved Gandotra was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Mahajan said that India today needs the principles of the late freedom fighters like never before.
He said that the ideals and principles of Bhagat Singh must act as a torch bearer for the youth in today’s society in which people are playing good and fragmenting human kind on the basis of caste, creed and religion.
Others present on the occasion included R.C Puri (Vice Chairman), S.S Bhalwal (President, FFMA), Karnail Chand Thakur (Working President), J.J Singh (General Secretary), Pritam Sharma, K.L Verma, Nirmal Kishore, Prabhat Kapahi (Office Secretary) and others.
Sunil Dimple president mission statehood paid rich floral tribute to Shaheedy azam Bhagat Singh Raj Guru Sukh Dev on their martyrdom today.
Addressing on the occasion, Dimple people of all religions sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle.
He pledged that he will follow the path shown by Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev to achieve the goal restoration of article 370, 35A, J&K State and implementation of the instrument of accession condition their election issue and clear stand on the article 370, 35-A. He pledged to save the identity, culture, demography of the princely state.
In commemoration of the Martyrs’ Day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, GS Sports Club, in collaboration with the Directorate of Ayush Jammu, organized a Free Ayush Medical Camp at Govt High School Ranjan.
The camp was organised to pay homage to the great sacrifices of these iconic revolutionaries while providing vital healthcare services to the community.
The Chief Guest of the occasion, SHO Gharota Police Station Sukhbir Singh, along with esteemed dignitaries including President Krishan Lal of Gramin Brahmin Sabha, Chairman Sushil Sharma of Disable Welfare Trust, and Social Activists Pintu Chib and Ankush Sharma, graced the event with their presence.
The solemn proceedings commenced with the offering of floral tribute to the valiant martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, symbolizing the nation’s enduring gratitude for their selfless contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
The event underscored the collective commitment towards promoting public health and honoring the indomitable spirit of our national heroes.
Such initiatives epitomize the enduring legacy of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, inspiring generations to uphold their principles of courage, sacrifice, and service to the nation.
History Dept. of GDC Ramnagar also observed ‘Martyr Day’ under the patronage of Principal GDC Ramnagar Dr Bhavnaish Chand Anthal.
This day is observed as Martyr’s Day to commemorate the sacrifice of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev and other heroes.
The programme started with the formal welcome address by Head Department of History Prof. Manmohan Singh. More than ten students participated as speaker in the symposium.
Principal GDC Ramnagar also expressed his views on this occasion and apprised the students that martyrs are the source of inspiration for the youth of India.
He further added that this day stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of our National heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and progress of India. We should follow the foot imprints of these heroes against any injustice in the society as well as nation.
The students who presented their views were Kiran Bandral, Thakur Veenayak Singh, Anita Devi, Mohalika Sharma, Shruti Angral, Manju Devi, Bhavishan Singh, Soniaka Devi, Sunil Kumar and Ramesh Singh.
To commemorate the martyr day of the youth icons and revolutionary leaders of the patriotic movement during the pre-independence struggle, Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP Vice President today paid floral tribute on the portraits of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru in a programme held here today.
Sethi in his address said that, they made supreme sacrifices of their lives with a sole objective of serving the motherland and ensure that the generations after them could breathe the air of freedom. The youth of the Nation needs to take lesson from their lives and follow their footsteps, he stated and appealed to the parents to imbibe the character of patriotism in the young generation.
He said that India will never forget the supreme sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who were just in their young ages when raised the voice of revolt against the British rule and faced many atrocities but did not deviate from their pledge of serving the motherland.
On the occasion, Dr Charanjit Singh, Chairman of the Foundation, Swarn Singh, S Harvinder Singh and Dr Taran Singh were also present.
Tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh by S S Sodhi, the Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Intellectual civil Society (J&KICS), in a function held here today.
While giving the tribute, Sodhi reflected on Bhagat Singh’s unwavering courage in challenging British colonial rule, which inspired India’s youth during the independence struggle.
He emphasized the enduring lessons in selfless patriotism exemplified by Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, and other educated revolutionaries, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
Sodhi encouraged every citizen to take pride in these exemplary individuals and to honour their contributions.
He also urged educational institutions to ensure that the history of India’s freedom struggle is accessible to every student and citizen nationwide.
