Tribute paid to students martyrs amid 3-day fast by JJSF as mark of respect

JAMMU, Oct 18: Three-day long fast by activists of Jammu Joint Students’ Federation (JJSF) as a mark of respect to the student martyrs of 1966 agitation, concluded today at the `Shahidi Sthal’ in GGM Science College Jammu where the Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu among several other also paid floral tribute to the martyrs.
JJSF founder members, office bearers, students and other prominent dignitaries paid tribute to the student martyrs, who had sacrificed their lives for the Jammu cause. On the occasion, Havana was also performed for peace of departed souls of the student martyrs.
The JJSF volunteers were led by Pushvinder Singh Manhas (State President JJSF) and Atul Sudan (State Vice President) in paying tribute to the student martyrs of 1966.

Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu; Prof Rajesh Gupta, Principal GGM Science College; Twinkle Suri, Dean Cluster University Jammu; Prof Karan Singh, Dr Vinod Bakshi along with former Minister Harsh Dev Singh and other dignitaries offered juice to JJSF activists Abhishek Sharma, Raghu Nandan, Kanav Sharma and Rahul Sharma who were fasting from 16th October in memory of the student martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Pushvinder Singh Manhas threw light on supreme sacrifice of the student martyrs, who laid down their lives for the people of Jammu region. He stressed that it was only due to martyrdom of these students that Jammu is having separate Agriculture University and Government Medical College.
Others, who were present on the occasion and paid tribute to the student martyrs, included Partap Singh Jamwal, Sunil Chauhan (Provincial President JJSF), Sourav Choudhary, Anshul Choudhary, Vinkal, Abhishek Verma, Gurjinder Goldy, Sagar Sudan, Yuvraj Singh, Keshav Malhotra, Divyansh Verma, Vasu Dev Singh, Anirudh, Abhishek Manhas, Aman Slathia, Aryan Dev Singh, Vikas Sharma, Yuvraj Manhas, Sourav, Amit Manhas, Abhay Slathia, Opinder Sharma and several NCC Cadets.
