JAMMU, Oct 27: Rich tributes were paid to DySP Devinder Sharma and HC Gurbachan Singh at RS Pura, who sacrificed their lives and attained martyrdom while fighting against militancy on October 27, 2001 at Katli, Bilawar in district Kathua.
On the occasion, Rajesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Zone was the chief guest and Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu was guest of honour. The function was organized by Reliance Club RS Pura in collaboration with J&K Police.
IGP Jammu while speaking on the occasion lauded the role of Devinder Sharma and HC Gurbachan Singh which they played while fighting militancy.
He also remembered the martyrdom of SI Daljeet Singh of RS Pura Tehsil on the occasion.
IGP Jammu and DIG Jammu interacted with the family members of the deceased police officers/official.
Sarpanch Jagjit Singh Jaga, president Reliance Club RS Pura, Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, MLA RS Pura and Sham Lal Chaudhary, MLA Suchetgarh, Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu, Randhir Singh, SP headquarters, police officers and officials and locals were also present.
