JAMMU, May 15: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh paid rich tributes to the great ruler Maharana Pratap on his 477th birth anniversary at a function held at Jagat Resort, here today.
Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA Jammu West Sat Pal Sharma, MLC Vikram Randawa, President Rajput Sabha Narayan Singh, President Dharam Jagran Samanway Rakesh Kumar besides various social organization were present on the occasion and paid rich tributes to the Maharana Pratap Singh.
Remembering the great ruler, the Minister stated that Maharana Pratap’s life symbolized courage, patriotism and sacrifice of the greatest measure. He said that “we must retain Maharana in our mind and soul all the times, not just on one day in a year”. He said that the Maharana was so popular for his patriotism and valour that every Indian was ready to die for the righteous cause.
Choudhary Lal Singh said Maharana Pratap Singh was a true national hero who valiantly fought to defend his motherland. Not only did the Rajput ruler inspire Indians but his name also became a source of inspiration for people in other countries, he added.
In his address, Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, while recalling the life of Maharana Pratap Singh said that Maharana Pratap was a true national hero who valiantly fought to defend his motherland.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jammu West Sat Pal Sharma said that Maharana Pratap became an icon for freedom fighters because his name evoked a strong feeling of love and sacrifice for motherland.
President Rajput Sabha also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the life history of the Maharana Pratap Singh and remembered his sacrifices for the nation.
