BHADERWAH, June 7: Tributes were paid to Amar Shaheed, Ruchir Kumar Koul and all other Shaheeds of erstwhile Doda district on Shaheedi Divas of Amar Shaheed Ruchir Kumar Koul here at Badidan Sathal of Ruchir Kumar at Vasakdera.
Shaheed Ruchir Kumar Koul sacrificed his life for the integrity of India when militancy was at peak in district Doda and thus prevented migration of minorities from there.
The programme started with “Dhawaj Aarohan” at Badidan Sathal at 9 am followed by Hawan. Later on rich tributes were paid to all Shaheeds of district Doda.
Meanwhile, students from various schools including Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Gatha, BVM Bhaderwah and Adarsh Vidya Bhawan presented patriotic songs. All the shops of minority community remained closed for the whole day in respect of Shaheed Ruchir Kumar Koul and other Shaheeds.
