Tributes paid to Bhagat Chajju Ram

JAMMU, May 23: Noted social activist and Congress leader, Bhagat Chajju Ram was remembered on his death anniversary here on Friday.
On this occasion, Dr BR Ambedkar award was given to Bhagat Chajju Ram posthumously by the organisation.
In a meeting presided over by national advisor, All India Gandhi Global Family and former MP Janak Raj Gupta, rich tributes were paid to  Late Bhagat Chajju Ram.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gupta said that there is  need to work honestly and effectively for the welfare of the people of J&K.  He recalled the contribution of Bhagat Chhajju Ram for the society.
Several speakers demanded restoration of AIIMS to Jammu and not shelving the  Tawi artificial lake project in Jammu. They also demanded effective recruitment policy for the benefit of unemployed youth.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included Padam Shree SP Verma, vice president All India Gandhi Global Family, Gurbachan Kumari Rana former minister, SR Sudhir, senior Congress leader, Sunil Kumar, vice president Gandhi Global Family, Swaroop Singh, Suman Mahaldar, Bharat Priya Sharma, Ved Prakash Bhagat, Sudesh Bhagat and Ashak  Bhagat, sons of Bhagat Chajju Ram and Prof Jagdish Raj Bhagat.
