JAMMU, Mar 23: Rich tributes were paid to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their 90th martyrdom day.
Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu conducted online Symposia Competition under the patronage of Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu to pay homage to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. The topic of the contest was “Martyrs Day: A Tribute to Freedom Fighters”, wherein 10 participants from the Constituent Colleges and PGI Schools expressed their enthusiastic and potent ideas on the topic in English, Hindi and Urdu. Prof Bhopinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ was the special invitee at the Symposia Competition. Dr Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean, Students Welfare formally, Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare and many others were present on the occasion. Akshit Raina from Government MAM College bagged the first position while Ivanka Raman from GCW Gandhi Nagar secured the second position. Ravinder Rao from Government College of Education and Harsh Amla from SPMR College of Commerce shared the third prize.
BJP Jammu and Kashmir observed “Trimurti Balidan Diwas” on the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru by organizing various programmes in prominent chowks and places. Main programme in this regard was observed by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina alongwith BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, J&K BJP Headquarter Incharge and former Minister Priya Sethi, BJYM President Arun Prabhat Singh, former MLA Neelam Langeh, BJP Spokesperson Brigadier Anil Gupta, BJP Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, BJP Media Incharge Dr Pardeep Mahotra and other prominent BJP and BJYM leaders paid respect to the youth icons at party headquarter.
Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Advocate Purnima Sharma along with her team of BJP members paid tribute on Shaheedi Diwas at Choughan Salathia area of Ward Number 1 so as to remember the three great heroes of the freedom movement—Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar on their death anniversary. Gopal Sanotra Additional Office Secretary Mandal, Anil Kumar Raina President Booth Number 1, Vijay Sharma Booth Number 2 President, Chunni Singh President Booth Number 8, Lalit Jain President Panjtirthi Shopkeepers Association and many others were present on the occasion.
BJP’s Unit of District Jammu West paid homage to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru in a Shradhanjali program organized at District Headquarters, Kachi Chawni. Former State President BJP and Ex Minister Sat Sharma along with other senior leaders paid homage to the martyrs. The program was organized under the leadership of District President Munish Khajuria. District Seh Prabhari Shailja Gupta, BJP Publicity Secretary Ayodhya Gupta, District General Secretaries Advocate Rajesh Gupta and Advocate Karan Sharma, Mandal Presidents Raveesh Mengi and Keshav Chopra and many other leaders also paid tributes to the martyrs.
To pay tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their 90th martyrdom day, a function was organized at Prakash Oil Company, Gangyal. JP Singh Retd IGP presided over the function. Indian Flag runners organized 23 km run and 90 km cycling with National Flag to commemorate the occasion. Members of Eco Cycleture Foundation, Jammu participated in the event. Those honoured on the occasion were Harpyas Singh (23 km running + 90 km cycling), Sudhir Anand (23 km running + 90 km cycling), Abhishake Gupta (23 km running + 90 km cycling), Seema Kharyal (23 km running), Deepak Sharma (23 km running), Sonali Sharma (23 km running) and Pankaj Sharma (90km cycling).
Ikkjutt Jammu Yuva paid tributes to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on Shaheedi Diwas at Roop Nagar. UT Secretary Ikkjutt Jammu Vir Vikram Aditya, SHO Janipur Inspector Nayat Ali and members of Ikkjutt Jammu paid tributes to martyrs. The whole program was organised under the guidance of Ankur Sharma President Ikkjutt Jammu and General Secretary Ashwani Sharma.
National Secular Forum GGM Science College Unit paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev on their 90th death anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, NSF JKUT President Dr Vikas Sharma threw light on life and supreme sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. He demands that the Government officially recognize Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh and Rajguru as martyrs. Vikshay Vashist President GGM Science College Unit, Arun Sadhotra, Vikram Sing, Vishal Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Shakir Ali and others attended the programme.
Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation organized a function at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk Jammu to pay tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. A free immunity boosting medicines distribution camp was organized by Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu on the occasion in which 512 persons get benefitted. Dr Taran Singh President of the Foundation, Padamshree Dr SP Varma President GGF-J&K, Yudhvir Sethi the senior and prominent leader of BJP, Amit Gupta Corporator Ward Number 19, Dr Jatinder Kumar MD Assistant Prof Government Ayurvedic Medical college Jammu and many others were present on the occasion.
On the occasion of ‘Shaheed Diwas’ BJP OBC Morcha paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru at different sites in Jammu. The main function was organised at Balgran Channi Rama Jammu. The ceremony was organised by Anil Balgotra District President BJP OBC Morcha Jammu and arrangements were done by Tarun Kumar Secretary BJP OBC Morcha JK UT. Kavinder Gupta Former Deputy CM, Vinay Gupta District President BJP Jammu, Braham Jyot Satti President BJP OBC Morcha JK-UT were present on the occasion.
National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) today paid rich floral tributes to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at party headquarters Jammu. While addressing Rajesh Gupta J&K UT President said Bhagat Singh will always remain a source of inspiration for Indians.
All India Students Federation (AISF) Jammu Kashmir Union Territory Unit remembered Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivram Rajguru. Mukesh Parihar, former President All India Students Federation (AISF) Jammu and Kashmir demanded Bhagat Singh National Employment Guarantee Act (BNEGA) to be passed in Parliament as the Central Government is unable to provide employment to the youths of the country.
Neeraj Dewan UT General Secretary PTU JKNPP paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on the occasion of their martyrs’ day. Neeraj Gupta said that all of us should follow the footprints of our national heroes.
Batwal Youth Development Committee organized meeting at Maira Mandleek today where the Batwal youths paid homage to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and said their supreme sacrifices will remain an inspiration for every generation of the country. Among others present were Param Jyoti, Sanjay Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Anil Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Gourav Kumar, Suresh Kumar, etc.
Prominent political and social personalities from Ward Number 41 under the leadership of local Councillor and senior BJP leader Sanjay Kumar Baru paid tributes to the legendary freedom fighters of India Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. Jatinder Khajuria, Rajesh Thakur, Bhubesh Thapa, Deendayal Sharma, Dr Inderjeet Bakshi, Jagdish Manhas, Anuj Soni and Mohan Lal Gupta were amongst the prominent who paid their tributes on the occasion.
All India Confederation of SC ST OBC Organisations and Dalit OBC Minority (DOM) organised Shraddhanjali Diwas of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru at Satwari Chowk, Jammu. It was organized by Mohammad Asraf, UT Vice President Confederation/ DOM. The dignitaries included RK Kalsotra, UT President Confederation/ DOM, Kulwant Singh, Dr Ramesh Kaith, Narinder Singh Lucky, Pritam Singh, Gulam Sarver, Mohammad Azad Kalyian, Sahid Saleem and Narinder Singh Khalsa. The portrait of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was garlanded and candles were lit as a tribute to the great personality.
National Secular Forum University Unit paid tributes to Saheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev in front of Central Library, University Campus. Freedom fighters portraits were garlanded. NSF JKUT Vice-president Pushpinder Singh threw light on life and supreme sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Rishikesh Rana NSF JKUT Vice-President, Manmohan Singh, Divyam, Ankush and many others were present on the occasion.
