Tributes paid to Darzi, Sherwani

JAMMU, Nov 7: J&K Freedom Fighters’ Association (JKFFA) paid tributes to Master Abdul Aziz Darzi of Handwara, Sopore and Maqbool Sherwani of Baramulla, Kashmir, for their martyrdom while saving the people from the wrath of the Pakistani intruders in October, 1947 in a function held at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, Ambphala.
The function was organized by the President Ved Gandotra, wherein Inspector Shakti Devi, SHO City Police Station was the chief guest, who along with others paid tributes to the martyrs.
While speaking on the occasion, Inspector Shakti Devi highlighted the deeds of the martyrs Abdul Aziz Darzi and Maqbool Sherwani.
Besides Abdul Aziz Darzi and Maqbool Sherwani, the participants also remembered Subash Chander Bose, Chander Shekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Maharani Laxmi Bai, Tantya Tope, Mangal Pandey and all other martyrs and freedom fighters.
The speakers exhorted the Kashmiri youth to shun violence and work with the administration to build peaceful and prosperous J&K State and also warned the separatists of Valley to stop exploiting youth on the name of religion and work for the welfare of the masses.
Among others present were Rajiv Mahajan, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Sandeep Singh Sunny Youth President, Vikrant Sharma, Youth Vice President, Vinney Mahajan, City President, Ashwani Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Parbat Kapali, etc.
