SRINAGAR, Dec 29: Army paid tributes to Havaldar Anil Kumar Tomar, who made the supreme sacrifice on Monday at Srinagar.
In a solemn ceremony at Badami Bagh Cantt, Lt Gen BS Raju, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the gallant soldier on behalf of the proud Nation.

Late Havildar Anil Kumar Tomar was part of a cordon and search operation on Dec 25, 2020 in the area of Kanigam in Shopian district. At around 10:30 pm, the terrorists tried to break the cordon and fired indiscriminately, in which Hav Anil Kumar Tomar was grievously injured.
Inspite of his injury, he showed highest level of courage and valour by returning effective fire, in which one terrorist was killed. He was immediately evacuated to 92 BH for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries on Dec 28, 2020.
The braveheart, Havaldar AK Tomar, was 40 years old and had joined Army in 2001. He belonged to village Sisauli of Tehsil and district Meerut, in Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his wife and two children.
The mortal remains of Late Havaldar Anil Kumar Tomar were taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be cremated with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and remains committed to their dignity and well being, a defence spokesman said.
