NOWSHERA, June 23: Rich tributes were paid to former minister and veteran Congress leader Master Beli Ram Sharma on his 15th death anniversary.
In this regard, a meeting was held, which was presided over by son of Master Beli Ram Sharma, Advocate Rajinder Parshad Sharma. Homage was paid to the veteran Congress leader, known for his honesty, simplicity and dedication for his service to the poor and downtrodden.
The leaders, while paying tributes to Master Beli Ram, described him as a symbol of simplicity, honesty, humbleness and dedicated Congress leader who in his whole life worked for strengthening the party. “Sharma fought communal forces to uphold the banner of secularism and socialism. He was a committed Congressman and worked with devotion to help the poor, downtrodden and neglected sections of the society,” they said and described Master Ji as the leader of the masses.
Advocate Rajinder Parshad Sharma described Master Ji as a great visionary leader who laid sound policies for the future of Nowshera-Sunderbani. The policies which were framed under Master Ji’s stewardship are the guiding principles for this state and country on all important fields,” he said and listed the developmental works initiated by his father, which included Nowshera-Sunderbani road.
“He was deeply committed to the development of State and was architect of Nowshera -Sunderbani. Following the footsteps of Master Ji would be the real tribute to him on his death anniversary,” he added.
Prominent among those, who spoke on the occasion, including Sub hash Kapok (President Beeper Manual and Ex Chairman MC Nowshera), Sukhdev Sharma (Retd Lecturer and social activist), Ashok Sharma, Shaktipal Singh and others.
