SAMBA, Aug 11: Rich tributes were paid to martyr Nek Ram on his 10th martyrdom day.
It is pertinent to mention here that soldier Nek Ram of Daboh village of this district attained martyrdom on August 11, 2004 in Mendhar Sector of District Poonch.
On the occasion, army personnel and family members laid wreath at the statue of the martyr, remembering his sacrifice for the country.
Bimala Devi, the Sarpanch of Panchayat Dadoh was present on the occasion, who paid tribute to the martyr Nek Ram.
She remembered the martyrdom of Nek Ram and asked the youth to follow the path of martyrs. “We live peacefully in our homes only because of brave soldiers, who protect our borders”, she added.
On the occasion, martyr Nek Ram’s father Janak Raj, mother Bishno Devi, brother Ravi Kumar, sister-in-law Rekha Kumari and many others also paid tribute to the martyr and saluted his bravery.
