Tributes paid to Tashi Rabgais on 1st death anniversary

LEH, Oct 19: Glorious tributes were paid to late Tashi Rabgias, the eminent Ladakhi scholar, poet, artist and philosopher, on his 1st death anniversary.
A grand public meeting was held at his parental Tukchu House, Sakti, to pay floral tribute to late Tashi Rabgais. The meeting was attended by Tashi Gyaltsan, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP Ladakh, Councillors, a score of Ladakhi writers, cultural workers and family members of late Tashi Rabgais.
On the occasion Nawang Tsering Shakspo, an eminent historian and the Director of Centre for Research on Ladakh, Leh delivered a keynote address. In his speech Nawang in length spoke about the life of late Tashi Rabgias. In the afternoon, a musical concert was held at the Sindhu Sanskriti Cultural Centre, Leh. Tashi Chosphel, Executive Councillor attended the show as the chief guest.
Earlier today a book exhibition was organized by the Tashi Memorial Society. The events saw participation of various socio-cultural association, including Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Ladakh Cultural Forum, Leh.
