JAMMU, July 14: Tricolour flies and thrives in the heart of every resident of Jammu and Kashmir, J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina said in a statement here, today while countering former Chief Minister and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti.
Raina said that on the 75th year of Independence Day of India, the whole nation is observing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. He said that Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate 75 glorious years of progressive India and its rich history, diverse population, magnificent culture and great achievements.
He said that on this pious occasion, the residents of this great nation are unfurling “Tiranga” (Tricolor) all over the nation. Similarly, all the residents from everywhere in J&K will also unfurl the Tricolor at their houses. However, this pious exercise is making former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti restless. Nevertheless, she must understand that “Tiranga” is our identity, it lives in our hearts, and it is our pride. And on this “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, all the residents of Jammu & Kashmir are going to unfurl it with pride and honour.
“Mohammad Maqbool Shervani forced the Pakistanis to flee from Kashmir in 1947. This Tiranga is for all of us irrespective of region or religion. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians. Tricolour flies and thrives in the heart of every resident of Jammu and Kashmir ” said Raina.
“Mehbooba ploys similar plots every time on such occasions, to play her divisive politics. She knows that J&K is about to witness the Assembly polls in near future, so she and similar type of pseudo-leaders are trying to vitiate the atmosphere and trying to make people fight amongst themselves on the name of region and religion. Sometimes they are also trying to defame Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra which has been in the customs of Kashmir since time immemorial. She must relearn history and understand that she cannot perturb the minds of people of J&K and hence, as such, must desist herself from such acts”, added Raina.
