Tricolours deluging Kashmir gladdened me: Rahul

SHAHEED VEER NARAYAN SINGH NAGAR (Chhattisgarh), Feb 26:
Reminiscing his recently-concluded Bharat Jodo Yatra, erstwhile Congress president Rahul Gandhi averred on Sunday that he experienced tremendous joy on witnessing the proud Tricolour in the hands of thousands of Kashmiri youngsters in the country’s worst insurgency-affected areas even as the National Flag fluttered along streets and atop hills.
Addressing his party’s 85th Plenary Session here, he said, Some youth asked me, ‘When we are subjected to injustice, the rest of India must be feeling happiness’ I replied by saying, ‘Crores of Indians empathise with the Kashmiri people’s sorrow; those who feel glee may number only in thousands’.
A place where only a crowd of about 2,000 was estimated by security forces instead witnessed attendance by approximately 40,000; resulting in a breakdown of the system, Mr Gandhi recalled, adding that CRPF personnel themselves said they had never seen anything similar earlier.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had snatched the Indian sentiment from the hearts of those citizen, he alleged.
